CHARITIES AND RACING INDUSTRY GROUPS TO RECEIVE $150,000 FROM ATC FOUNDATION

Funds were raised via on-course donations and activities such as the sale of official Carnival pins – including the TAB Everest and Golden Eagle – along with saddlecloth auctions from a number of Group 1 Australian Turf Club races.

The eighth round of grants was in addition to the second half of a two-year program with key racing industry bodies the National Jockeys Trust, Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy and Equine Pathways Australia.

ATC Foundation Chair Angela Belle McSweeney thanked the generosity of racing fans, ATC Members, racing fans and partner organisations.

“The ATC Foundation is very pleased to able to help the racing industry along with organisations around each of our racecourses and the communities they assist,’’ Ms McSweeney said.

“On behalf of the ATC Foundation Board and our Club and Members, I thank everyone who has donated or purchased special merchandise to allow us to continue such important work for so many groups.

“As Chair of the ATC Foundation for the past three years it has been an honour to champion the generosity of the racing industry and the important work our Club’s Foundation continues to do to give back to those in need.’’
